Fishing Tour Cabo San Lucas, without the sport fishing boat
Cabo San Lucas is one of the most famous sport fishing destinations on the planet. That is not marketing. It is geography. Two oceans meet here, the water is deep and productive, and the season runs year round. Every year, some of the biggest fishing tournaments in the world take place off these waters.
Traditional sport fishing charters put you on a small dedicated fishing boat: tight quarters, no shade, no bar, no room to relax. That works for hardcore anglers who want nothing but rods and reels for eight hours. But if you want the fishing experience without giving up comfort, food, or space for the group, this is the tour we built for that.
Real trolling gear. Real target species. Real chances to land the catch of your Cabo trip. All from the deck of a luxury catamaran with a premium open bar, gourmet food, shaded lounging space, and room for the whole group to enjoy the day, even the ones who would rather watch than reel.

Where We Fish
The most productive waters in Baja
Cabo San Lucas sits at the tip of the Baja California peninsula, right where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez. This convergence creates one of the most nutrient rich, biologically active waters in the world. Cold currents from the north bring baitfish, warm currents from the south bring pelagics chasing them, and the result is fishing so consistent that Cabo hosts some of the largest tournaments on Earth.
Depending on the season, conditions, and what is running that day, we head to different grounds. Sometimes we stay closer in, working the drop offs where the depth changes fast and structure attracts pelagics. Other days we sail farther out to find the current lines and bird activity that mean fish are feeding. The captain reads the water, and the crew adjusts the setup to match.
Every day out here is different. That is part of the appeal. You never know exactly what will hit the line, but if you fish Cabo, something usually does.
How the Tour Works
A relaxed day of serious fishing
Meet at Dock F. Arrive 15 minutes before departure at Marina Cabo San Lucas, Dock F. The crew greets you, walks you through the boat, and gets everyone settled with a welcome drink.
Lines out at the marina exit. As soon as we clear the marina, the trolling setup goes out. This is the moment the day officially starts. From here on, every minute you are on the water is a chance for a fish to hit the line.
The captain reads the water. Based on the day, the season, and what is happening around you (bird activity, current lines, temperature breaks), the captain picks the route. The crew watches the lines, adjusts the drag, and keeps everything running clean.
Fish on. When something hits, the reel screams and the moment shifts. Whoever wants the rod takes it, the crew coaches you through the fight, and the rest of the group watches (or films it). Big fish take time to bring in. That is part of the fun.
Photos, filet, or release. Every catch gets a photo. If you want to keep it, the crew filets on board and packs it for you. If you want to release, we release. Your call.
Sail back for the golden hour. Depending on your departure time, we sometimes catch a great light coming back into the marina, El Arco lit up gold, and drinks still flowing. A perfect close to the day.

The Difference
Why fish from a catamaran
The obvious question: if we are fishing, why not just book a regular sport fishing boat? The answer depends on what kind of fishing day you want.
Space and comfort. A Belize 43 catamaran gives you an entire deck to spread out, lounge in shade, hang at the bow, or gather at the deck table. A traditional sport fishing boat crams everyone into a small back deck for hours. Same fishing, very different comfort level.
Stability at sea. Catamarans have twin hulls, which means they sit more level in the water. Less rocking, less seasickness, easier day for anyone in the group who is sensitive to motion. This alone is why many people who thought they hated boats end up loving our tours.
Room for everyone. Only two people fishing? Fine, the other four in your group can lounge, drink, take photos, and enjoy the day without feeling stuck. This is the tour couples and families choose when only one or two members actually want to fish.
A real kitchen and a real bar. Onboard kitchen means fresh food, not cold sandwiches from a cooler. Premium open bar means real drinks, not warm beer. This is a sport fishing day that also happens to be a proper luxury sail.
If you want the intensity of a hardcore tournament style fishing charter, book that. If you want serious fishing without giving up any of the comforts, book this.

Fishing Tour FAQs
Everything else you might want to know
The most common questions we get about the fishing tour. If yours is not here, send us a message and we will answer within a few hours.
What kind of fishing do you offer?
Trolling style fishing throughout the sail. As soon as we leave Marina Cabo San Lucas, the lines go out and stay out while we sail across the Sea of Cortez looking for productive water. It is a relaxed, hands on approach that works well for absolutely everyone from first timers to lifelong anglers. If a Pacific catch hits, one of you gets to reel it in and the crew handles the rest.
Do I need fishing experience?
Not at all. Our crew rigs everything, handles bait, sets the drag, and coaches you through the fight if the moment comes. Many of our guests have never touched a rod in their life and end up landing their first catch on this tour. If you are already an experienced angler, you will appreciate that we run good gear and know these waters well.
What is included in the fishing gear?
Full trolling setup: rods, reels, tackle, bait, lures, and an ice chest to keep your catch fresh. Everything a serious fishing operation includes, provided on board with no extra charge. If you have a favorite rod you want to bring, that is fine too. Just let us know.
What fish can we catch in Cabo San Lucas?
The waters off Cabo San Lucas and the Sea of Cortez are legendary in the sport fishing world for the variety they offer year round. Different species run in different seasons, and conditions on the day matter a lot. Whatever is running when you sail, we go after. The crew will brief you on what to expect based on the time of year and current conditions.
Is this the same as a sport fishing charter?
Not quite. Traditional sport fishing charters use dedicated fishing boats built for one purpose: fishing. Our tour is different. You fish from the deck of a luxury catamaran designed for space, comfort, and social experience, with a full kitchen, premium bar, shaded lounging areas, and room for the whole group. The fishing is real and the gear is real. The difference is that everyone in your group can enjoy the day, whether they are fishing or not.
How long is the fishing tour?
The tour runs 4 to 6 hours, giving the ocean plenty of time to produce a bite and giving you plenty of time to enjoy the sail. If you want a shorter half day or a longer full day option, we can accommodate. Just tell us when you book.
What food and drinks are included?
Our sailor chef prepares gourmet food on board: turkey and cheese baguettes, chips, Mexican salsa, our famous fresh guacamole, and light bites throughout the sail. Premium open bar the entire time: beer, margaritas, red and white wine, rum, vodka, tequila, whisky, soft drinks, juice and water. Custom menus available on request.
Do you clean and filet the catch?
Yes. If you land a keeper and want to take it home, the crew filets on board and packs it for you. If your accommodations have a kitchen or if you want to take it to a local restaurant that will cook it for you (Cabo has several that offer this service), we can suggest options. Catch and release is also welcome if that is your preference.
Is the fishing tour good for kids?
Yes. Kids love watching the lines, hearing the reel scream when a fish hits, and being part of the action. Our tour is more comfortable for young children than a traditional sport fishing charter (more space, shade, snacks available, calm deck) which is why families choose it. We provide flotation vests and the crew keeps everyone safe.
Is it a private tour?
Yes, our fishing tour is always a private charter. Just your group on the catamaran, no strangers sharing the boat. That means the schedule, the pace, the target species we go after, and even the menu can flex to what your group wants.
What should I bring?
Reef safe sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, comfortable clothes that can get a little wet or fishy, and a good attitude. We handle absolutely everything else. If you want to bring your own rod or specific tackle, welcome. Just let us know when you book.
When is the best time of year to go fishing in Cabo?
There is no bad time. Cabo San Lucas has one of the most consistent year round fishing seasons in the world thanks to its position between the Pacific and the Sea of Cortez. Different species run in different months. If you have a target in mind, tell us and we will tell you honestly whether the season is right for it.
