Our Story · Since 2007
Sailing the Baja,
Heart & Soul
Karla and Edgar founded Sail Baja Adventures out of one simple conviction: the Sea of Cortez deserves to be experienced properly — under sail, at golden hour, with people who genuinely love the water.

The Founders
From a Shared Dream to Los Cabos' Most Trusted Sailing Company
Sail Baja Adventures was born in 2007 from something simple: Karla and Edgar loved the water, knew Baja California Sur better than most, and believed that the best way to experience Los Cabos was always under sail.
What started as a single vessel and a handshake commitment to exceptional service has grown into a two-yacht operation with a loyal crew, a community of returning guests, and a reputation built one unforgettable sunset at a time. Their guests come from the world’s most prestigious resorts — and they keep coming back.
Every tour they offer is one they’d take themselves. That’s not marketing — it’s just how they’ve run things since day one.
What We Stand For
Three Things We’re Known For
Service That Goes Further
We don’t just answer questions — we anticipate them. From the moment you book to the moment you step off the boat, every detail is managed so you can be fully present and enjoy the experience.
Private, Curated Experiences
No crowded party boats. Both our vessels are privately chartered, which means every tour is designed entirely around your group — your pace, your wishes, your special requests, your day on the water.
Crew That Knows This Water
Our crew has navigated the Baja Peninsula for years. They know where the dolphins play, where the humpbacks breach in winter, and exactly when to drop anchor for the perfect snorkeling spot.
Why Sail Baja
You Could Book Any Tour. Here’s Why Guests Choose Us.
In over 18 years of operating in Los Cabos, we’ve hosted guests from the world’s most prestigious resorts — One & Only Palmilla, Esperanza, Ventanas al Paraíso, The Resort at Pedregal, Hacienda Beach Resort & Residences, and more.
They return — and they bring their families — because the experience is consistent: attentive crew, spotless vessels, flexible itineraries, and the kind of unhurried afternoon on the water that Cabo promises but few actually deliver.
Whether you dream it or bring us a blank slate, we make it real.

Frequently Asked Questions
About Sail Baja Adventures
How long has Sail Baja Adventures been operating?+
Sail Baja Adventures was founded in 2007 by Karla and Edgar, who had already been sailing these waters for years before making it their life's work. Over 18 years later, they're still the ones planning your trip, greeting you at the dock, and making sure every detail is right. That continuity — the same passion, the same standards, the same faces — is something their guests notice and come back for year after year.
Where do tours depart from?+
All tours depart from Cabo San Lucas Marina, Dock F — one of the most central and accessible points in Los Cabos, just steps from the marina's main promenade. It's easy to find, parking is available nearby, and the check-in process is relaxed and unhurried. Once you book, we'll send you detailed meeting instructions so there's no guesswork on the day of your sail.
Are tours truly private — no strangers on board?+
Yes — always. Every booking with Sail Baja Adventures is exclusive to your group. We never mix parties, combine strangers, or sell individual tickets for shared departures. When you step aboard, the boat is entirely yours: the deck, the itinerary, the pace, the playlist. Whether you're a couple on a honeymoon, a family of ten, or a corporate group of thirty, you'll have full privacy and the crew's undivided attention for the entire experience.
What types of groups do you accommodate?+
We've hosted just about every type of group imaginable: romantic couples celebrating anniversaries, multi-generational families on reunion trips, bachelorette parties, wedding groups looking for a pre-ceremony sunset sail, corporate retreats, and resort concierge excursions for guests of Los Cabos' finest hotels. Our fleet gives us the flexibility to match the vessel to the occasion — the intimate Blue Lagoon (up to 14 guests) for smaller gatherings, and the spacious Zig Zag (up to 30 guests) for larger celebrations.
Do you accommodate special requests?+
Absolutely — and this is one of the things we most enjoy. Over the years we've arranged surprise proposals at anchor under the arch, custom menus for guests with dietary restrictions, professional photographers aboard for special occasions, and custom playlists for everything from jazz brunches to sunset dance parties. If you have something specific in mind — something you've seen, dreamed about, or simply aren't sure is possible — ask us. The answer is almost always yes.
What's included in a typical tour?+
Every tour includes an experienced captain and crew, onboard snacks and beverages (with options for premium bar packages), snorkeling equipment when applicable, and all necessary safety gear certified to Mexican maritime standards. What varies by tour is the duration, itinerary, and specific inclusions — for example, whale watching tours run seasonally from December through April, while sunset sails operate year-round. See our Experiences page for the full breakdown of each tour.
When is the best time of year to visit Cabo for sailing?+
Los Cabos is a year-round sailing destination, but each season has its character. November through April brings cooler temperatures, calm seas, and — from December through April — humpback and gray whale migrations through the corridor. May through October means warmer water, excellent snorkeling visibility, and vibrant marine life including manta rays, sea turtles, and whale sharks in some areas. Summer has more wind, which experienced sailors love. Whatever month you're visiting, there's something remarkable happening on the water.
